Doulas of Color

Gathering doulas of all colors, to help build a better nation!

Please join us in the AAMI-sponsored reading rooms on yahoogroups for our
current book discussions. We have a great selection of books and
enthusiastic facilitators lined up. Each book is scheduled to last two
months, so even if you don't already own the books for the November-December
discussions you still have plenty of time to buy or borrow them and join us.

The childbirth reading room is designed to educate women about natural
birth. Books are chosen for their promotion of birth truth and birth trust.
Our November-December selection in the CBRR will be Pregnancy, Childbirth,
and the Newborn: The Complete Guide by Penny Simkin, Janet Whalley, and Ann
Keppler. The discussion will be facilitated by AAMI student Lacy Young.

The unassisted childbirth reading room is similar in format to the
childbirth reading room but features books that are recommended reading for
women who are considering unassisted homebirth. Books are chosen for their
promotion of gentle, unhindered childbirth. Our November-December selection
in the UCRR will be Transformation Through Birth: A Woman's Guide by Claudia Panuthos.
The discussion will be facilitated by AAMI student Amy Borelli.

professionals and students. The November-December book in the MRR will be
My Bag Was Always Packed: The Life and Times of a Virginia Midwife by Claudine Curry
Smith and Mildred H. B. Roberson.
This discussion will be facilitated byAAMI student Lisa Loos.

I have learned something of value in each of the book discussions in which I
have been a participant and this line-up promises to be a great one for
learning and sharing birth wisdom. Please join us!

Well isn't that something! I am not surprised that the U.S. had to go outside to come up with a community structure, that is how they operate. It's called build and destroy....they will build something up only to destroy and rebuild it again....lol.…
